Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!

One of the core values here at Manitou Springs Elementary is our desire to grow the WHOLE CHILD. From nurturing staff and classroom settings, to the Core Knowledge Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science curricula, to hands on learning experiences and field trips, authentic learning continues to strengthen and deepening content for all students each and every day.

Extension and enrichment or teacher collaboration will take place at every grade level. Sometimes this looks like a whole-group lesson I go into the classroom to share. Other times this is a consistent pull-out where I work with a specific group of students to take learning to the next level and apply it to authentic activities. By partnering with teachers, I will continue supporting regular curriculum to help make learning more vivid and meaningful. Together, we will help your child reach new skill levels and build personal interest to hold themselves to more productive standards!

Interested in Participating in the National History Bee?

The National History Bee is an exciting new history competition for school children across America. Participating students progress from the school level to the regional level and finally to the National Championship until one student is crowned the National History Bee Champion!
What makes the National History Bee unique?  Unlike other activities, participants in the National History Bee compete head-to-head to be the first to “buzz-in” with the correct answer. What results is a competition that tests a student’s knowledge in a fun and exciting way!
Stage 1: An optional Intramural Bee and a mandatory Online Regional Qualifying Exam which students take at their school or home, under the supervision of a Sponsor.
Stage 2: The top students from the ORQE compete against each other in a buzzer competition coordinated by the National History Bee at one of 37 sites across the United States called the Regional Finals.
Stage 3: The top finishers from the 37 Regional Finals are eligible to advance to the National Finals and compete for the title of National History Bee Champion!

Visit their website here,  then LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED!!!  I can help with either individual or team entries.  They have a great STUDY GUIDE available online!
